The Fault In Our Stars

Today, I got to watch The Fault In Our Stars with Monique. We giggled, cried, and laughed a lottt. (and had lunch together c;) It was a phenomenal 2 hours and 15 minutes.

It was honestly amazing. I felt everything; pain, love, happiness, etc. If you read the book, you'd definitely know what I mean, more! I cried throughout the whole movie at different parts, haha. This was the first time I've cried in a cinema, oops. (I usually watch movies at home okay). I honestly loved the entire movie - every bit of it. It followed the book very well and I admire that. Also, I really enjoyed the soundtrack (the fact that Birdy and Ed sang in it made it 10 times better.)

[SPOILERS] Some of my absolute favourite scenes that made me laugh or smile: when Hazel met Gus at support group (when they talked and when Gus wouldn't stop looking at Hazel), Isaac breaking Gus's trophies, Isaac throwing eggs at Monica's house (and when Gus made the little speech to Monica's mum), The picnic at the park (the skeleton park really amused me), when Gus made Hazel so happy by giving her the chance to go to Amsterdam (and how he teased her about using her wish on Disneyland and when he got so excited to go on a plane for the first time), The lovely dinner (aw, Mr and Mrs Waters), the bit where Hazel kissed Gus in the Anne Frank house and people around them started applauding (and when Gus took a bow), when Gus and Hazel were there for each other at the hospital and honestly... just everything!

There were also scenes that broke my heart: when Hazel's mother said "it's okay to let go" when little Hazel was dying, when Hazel was so determined to climb all the stairs in the Anne Frank House, when Gus told Hazel he was dying, when Gus drove to the gas station to get a pack of cigarets, when Gus wanted to attend his own funeral and the speech Isaac and Hazel made, Gus's funeral and when Hazel brought him a pack of cigarets, when Gus wrote to Peter Van Houven to finish An Imperial Affection for Hazel ("I'm a good person but a shitty write, you're a shitty person but a good write") and too many other scenes to list.
