Alex Goot and ATC Concert

I went for the Against The Current and Alex Goot Concert two days ago and it was extraordinary! (I got the whole concert on tape so I can re-watch it, yay!) After waiting in line for an hour or so, Aileen and I hurried in (not pushing, of course!) and got to the front and middle which had a great view! A guy who was very tall allowed us to go in front of him and we were pretty grateful for that.

The three opening acts were very enjoyable and we noticed some familiar faces, so that was lovely. After the opening acts, Against The Current finally made their appearance! Everyone had their iPhones, Cameras, iPads out and were cheering wildly. They were very entertaining and interacted with us a lot. The crowd even sang Happy Birthday to Chrissy (the lead singer in Against The Current) since it was her birthday and she was adorable (there was someone near me who was screaming her head off to the beat of a song and I couldn't stop laughing). Someone from the crowd even threw a bra and pink underwear on stage and that made me laugh, a lot. They performed covers and original songs which I enjoyed a whole lot. Here's their setlist:

  • Infinity - Against The Current
  • Something You Need - Against The Current
  • Closer, Faster - Against The Current
  • Ain't It Fun - Paramore
  • Chocolate - The 1975s
  • Thinking - Against The Current
  • Comeback Kid - Against The Current
  • Another You (Another Way) - Against The Current

After Against The Current went off stage, Alex Goot came on! Even though my feet were aching terribly, I didn't care as I was having so much fun. He also performed original and cover songs (all of my favourites!) with the help of the drummer and guitarist from Against The Current. Throughout his performance, there was a problem with the sound and his microphone, but it was fixed in no time! (and he didn't stop playing the piano!) He still did a phenomenal job and I really enjoyed it, very much. (Also, the way he made the crowd join in!) Here's his setlist:

  • Right Where I Belong - Alex Goot
  • Sensitivity - Alex Goot
  • 1000 Miles - Vanessa Carlton
  • Secret Girl - Alex Goot
  • Bright Lights - Alex Goot
  • Wake Up Call - Alex Goot
  • How To Safe A Life - The Fray
  • Living Addiction - Alex Goot
  • Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi (Chrissy made a surprise entrance here and they sang a mashup together!)
  • Good Time, Catch My Breath, Call Me Maybe Mashup - Against The Current and Alex Goot!
  • Lightning - Alex Goot
  • Teenage Dream, Beauty and A Beat, With or Without You, Without You, Lightning Mashup - Alex Goot
  • Wonderwall - Oasis
  • Breakeven - The Script

This was probably one of the highlights of my summer and it was a privilege to watch one of my favourite bands/artists live! xx
