A part of me feels very excited for the arrival of a new age. A part of me remains terrified due to the habit of wanting to hold on forever. My birthday this year was wonderful, I had the loveliest time with the people I love deeply. It didn't even feel like a day, rather a week. The thought that constantly lingered at the back of my mind was gratefulness; a bucket full of gratefulness. Here are some moments that made me smile from cheek to cheek, and even made my heart smile!
Thursday
I met up with some of my close friends that who I haven't seen since prom! It was honestly just an atmosphere of love and laughter. The feeling of catching up with people you care about is truly wonderful.
Saturday
Spent the evening with my family and had the best Japanese food. I was even surprised with a little cake, lemony and refreshing! So much love, so much gratefulness.
Sunday
Danced the night away (literally) with the people I love. We went see Arrival from Sweden who played ABBA music and I had the time of my life! I'm such a lover of concerts and music so this was definitely such a treat for me. I even got my little red dress and silver heels on, feeling as if I was from the golden years. My favourite.
Tuesday
My 17th Birthday. Though my classes ended super late that day, at 5pm, I still managed to have a balling time. The day started at 6am with a little surprise banner my brother put in my door for me. He's such cheeky one, but little gestures like that are what I'm most grateful for. I came home and my mum surprised me with a mini tiramisu cake! Though it was only her, my grandma and I that evening, I couldn't stop smiling.
Throughout the rest of the week
My college friends were the cutest.
Saturday
I got to see some of my absolute favourite people that evening. It was the most perfect way to end my "birth-week" and I honestly felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
With love,
Cheryl
