This European indie-folk band from England named Daughter happens to be in my top 10 favourite band, not just because of their originality, but also because their music makes me feel something. The band consists of singer from North London Elena Tonra (I fell in love with her voice the minute I heard it), Swiss-born guitarist Igor Haefeli and drummer Remi Aguilella from France.
My favourite songs by them ought to be "Youth" and "Medicine" but I also love Amsterdam and basically the entire "If You Leave" and "Wild Youth" EP. I've covered one of their songs and it's one of my favourite covers I've done by far.
I first fell in love with them when I discovered them on BBC Radio 1 on YouTube and they were so raw and filled with talent; I loved it. They're definitely one of those artists whose music comes from the heart and it's all about the music, in my opinion. And because of that, I highly admire them. I particularly enjoy listening to them when I'm trying to be calm or not in the best mood; there's just something about them that makes me feel... better? (I'm not too sure if that's the right word but I just really love them!)
